Some careers are chosen. Others are quietly inherited, shaped by early impressions, dinner-table conversations, and the subtle choreography of watching a parent at work.
For Endro Puspo Wiroko, the world of industrial psychology began long before university. As a child, he observed his father, an HR professional in an automotive company, welcoming guests who came not merely for meetings but for counsel. Stories of workplace dynamics, talent dilemmas, and collaborations with consultants filled their home. What may have seemed ordinary at first would later become formative.
Today, Endro defines himself through three principles: self-determination, care, and people orientation. Self-determination, for him, is not about perfection. It is about movement, the courage to begin before certainty arrives. Care is not a slogan but a quiet satisfaction: the knowledge that a shared insight, a piece of guidance, or even a small clarification can meaningfully impact someone’s path. And as a practitioner in human resources, being people-oriented is not simply strategic; it is philosophical. Organizations, he believes, derive their true value from the people within them.
An Education Rooted in Purpose
He pursued his undergraduate degree in psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada, where academic theory met living curiosity. During his studies, an internship at an outsourcing company in Bekasi introduced him to the tangible complexities of workforce management. The experience did not intimidate him; it clarified his direction.
Determined to deepen his expertise, he continued in the professional psychology program at Universitas Indonesia, specializing in industrial and organizational psychology. It was here that his intellectual interest matured into a professional commitment.
From Corporate Floors to Consulting Rooms
Endro began his career in corporate HR, focusing on assessment centers and talent development. His tenure at PNM (Persero), BASF Indonesia, and Heinz ABC Indonesia sharpened his understanding of how structured evaluation and strategic people management affect business sustainability.
Yet consulting beckoned. As an Associate Consultant at one of the prominent human resource consulting firms in Jakarta, his first major assignment involved in the change management project in one of the state-owned companies, an institutional shift requiring both structural precision and human sensitivity. The year-long engagement became more than a project; it was a proving ground.
True to his self-determination, he began extending his services independently while still engaged in the assignment. His first private client, a Cibitung-based automotive assembly company, entrusted him with employee assessment. A modest beginning, perhaps. But meaningful.
Academia soon entered the picture. He joined Universitas Pancasila as a lecturer in industrial psychology, contributing to the next generation of HR practitioners while remaining active with several leading assessment consulting firms in Indonesia.
Among his most notable independent consulting achievements was securing a nationwide local chemical company as a client, an affirmation of both credibility and trust.
The Birth of Istana Digdaya Consulting
In 2015, he formally established Istana Digdaya Consulting. The name reflects strength and sovereignty, an intentional metaphor. For Endro, consulting is not transactional; it is transformational. It is about helping organizations recognize that human capital is not a supporting function but the very architecture of competitive advantage.

Between Solitude & Society
Thriving at the intersection of stillness and connection, Endro curates his energy with care. He actively engages with HR practitioner communities, stays attuned to evolving psychological discourse, and participates in thoughtful discussions on LinkedIn, not as performance, but as intellectual exchange.
Equally essential are quieter rituals: solitary hours in cafés with a book, reflective pauses between engagements, and conversations without agenda. For him, balance is less about scheduling and more about intentional presence.
Career as a Sacred Alignment
Endro often distinguishes a job from a career. A job, he suggests, is what one does. A career is what one builds intentionally, patiently, and prayerfully.
“A career is shaped by the work we undertake. It is also our prerogative as human beings to align effort and prayer.”
In an era that often glorifies speed, Endro’s journey feels deliberate. Anchored in determination, elevated by care, and defined by a steadfast belief in the power of people, his personal brand is not crafted for spectacle but for substance.
